Which Sale Offer Costs Less After Delivery?
By BlackFriday.us Editorial Team
The price on a sale card is one part of the checkout total. Match the product first, then add shipping, tax and any required extras. This comparison works for a specific product you have already chosen; it cannot decide whether a different model is worth more to you.
Make an exact-product comparison
Record the manufacturer model or SKU, size, color, generation, condition and included accessories. Match each field across sellers. A rod-and-reel bundle is not the same as a reel-only listing; a headset without its wireless receiver is not the same package as one that includes it.
If the products differ, note the useful difference separately. You can still calculate both totals, but calling the lower one a saving on the same item would be misleading. Marketplace condition and seller terms need their own review.
A worked example: the smaller item price can cost more
Imagine two identical items. Offer A costs $59 plus $8 shipping and $5 tax: $72 total. Offer B costs $65 with free shipping and $5 tax: $70 total. Offer B has the lower total by $2 even though its item price is $6 higher. These are illustrative amounts, not retailer quotes or tax estimates.
If Offer B requires a $10 adapter that Offer A includes, the comparison changes again. Add essential extras, not optional accessories you would buy regardless. Use only a discount you are actually eligible for and that is permitted by the advertiser; do not assume a public coupon applies.
Compare two delivered costs
Enter USD amounts from each seller. Blank optional charges count as $0, so fill in every charge that applies. Tax is an amount, not a percentage. Unknown charges make the result incomplete.
Enter both item prices and valid nonnegative amounts with up to two decimal places.
Numbers stay on this page and reset when you leave. This tool does not fetch retailer prices, apply coupons, estimate taxes or send the amounts you enter to our analytics.
Keep uncertain charges visible
Until the retailer quotes shipping and tax for your address, a total is provisional. Do not call an unknown charge free. Membership costs, mandatory fees and installation can matter; record them as required extras when they are necessary for this purchase. Returns and warranties may justify paying more even when the item is identical.
Compare the price with evidence, not the crossed-out number
A retailer’s reference price does not establish the item’s recent market price. We do not call an offer a historical low without price-history evidence. A valid current comparison needs the exact configuration and current selling prices, rather than a headline percentage alone.
